Student Organizations

An important aspect of JPEC’s culture is our responsiveness to student voice and interest. Since our inception, students have voiced interests in a number of clubs and organizations.

Organization Details

The Early College and College Prep each have a robotics team that competes in the FIRST Robotics Competition.  The students work together to not only build a robot but also lasting relationships with their adult mentors and team participants.  Our teams are currently partnered with the Jackson Area Career Center and ranked 67th in the State.  The team has participated in the World competition located in Houston, Texas for the past two years.

Student Council is a group of elected and volunteer students working together with an adult advisor within the framework to provide a means for student expression and assistance in school affairs and activities, give opportunities for student experience in leadership and encourage student / faculty / community relations.

Through projects and activities, student councils work to:

  • PROMOTE CITIZENSHIP
  • PROMOTE SCHOLARSHIP
  • PROMOTE LEADERSHIP
  • PROMOTE HUMAN RELATIONS
  • PROMOTE CULTURAL VALUES

  • Kindness Committee - we exist to promote kindness on Campus and in the community through various activities including peer-to-peer counseling, participating in Relay for Life, Caroling at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital, Samaritan's Purse Christmas fill-a-shoebox, and student care packages.  We also celebrate as a team with a traditional Valentine's Day party and Valentine's mailbox decorating contest and a Christmas party.
  • Speech and Debate Club - we seek to empower members with the skills of expressing their beliefs clearly and concisely, public speaking and effective communication in a formal setting, and staying aware of current events in the world.  Despite the seemingly serious nature of debates, we never forget to have fun along the way!
  • Queer / Straight Alliance (QSA) - we exist to provide a safe, supportive environment for LGBTQ+ students and allies.
  • Tennis Club - open to any JPEC student, 6-13 grade, who wants to learn or play tennis. Whether you have played before, or are picking up a racket for the first time, students of all skill levels are welcome to come out. All you need is a tennis racket, and excitement to play!
  • Bowling Club - open to any JPEC student, 6-13 grade, who loves to bowl.
