As a public school academy for middle and high school students, Jackson Preparatory & Early College (JPEC) offers 6th – 13th graders the opportunity to foster independence safely. 1. Founded as a New Kind of School
JPEC was founded in 2014 by a group of 100 local families as a new kind of school. Our educational approach means we individualize – based on each of our student’s personal learning styles, talents, strengths and weaknesses.

JPEC Falcons learn at their own pace. By demonstrating proficiency in a subject, our students take ownership of their learning and can accelerate or slow down and focus on mastering skills students need to thrive in the real world.
2. What We Do is Rare
This is the only whole-school Early College in Michigan that has a middle school. Our College Preparatory program (6th-8th grades) focuses on developing college readiness skills.
3. College Prep on a College Campus
And – that’s not all! We are fully embedded on the Jackson College campus. JPEC students have full use of Jackson College’s facilities, including:

4. College AND Career

For students interested in pursuing a vocation, JPEC partners with the Jackson Area Career Center. Our Falcons can earn college credit alongside certifications in professions like:
