JPEC Students Excel with SAT Scores

Here at Jackson Preparatory & Early College (JPEC), we’re proud to share that our students have achieved the highest SAT scores in Jackson County Michigan for the past two years! This accomplishment is especially meaningful as we celebrate just five years of serving our community and empowering students to reach their college readiness goals.

Outperforming State & National Averages

While Michigan students averaged 945 on the 2024 SAT, JPEC students have consistently outperformed this benchmark. Our success is particularly noteworthy considering that Michigan requires all public school juniors to take the SAT as part of the Michigan Merit Exam, meaning these results reflect the performance of all students, not just those planning to attend college.

Jackson Prep students scored higher than the national average composite SAT score of 1024 in 2024, too!

The JPEC Difference

JPEC's success stems from a comprehensive, innovative approach to education that begins in 6th grade and extends through college completion. We offer:

  • Competency-Based Learning: Rather than measuring time in seats, JPEC focuses on skill mastery.

  • College-Aligned Curriculum from Day 1: JPEC's curriculum is specifically designed to meet collegiate academic standards starting in middle school.

  • Early College Integration: As Michigan’s only dedicated early college school with a full middle school program, JPEC offers students the opportunity to complete up to 60 college credits tuition-free through our five-year program.

  • Personalized Learning Environment: Students progress at their own speed, accelerating or slowing down as needed for mastery, supported by teachers and staff. Every student receives a device in a 1:1 learning environment, and personalized learning plans are developed in collaboration with Jackson College advisors.
