Jackson Preparatory & Early College (JPEC) and the University of Michigan-Dearborn have signed a Dual Enrollment Program Agreement that opens the doors of a major Michigan public research university to our students.

What this means for JPEC Students - A clear, confident path from Early College into a University of Michigan degree
University Credit
- Eligible students enroll in UM-Dearborn courses and earn postsecondary credit recorded on an official UM-Dearborn transcript.
- Course offerings draw from UM-Dearborn's four major academic colleges, spanning a broad range of disciplines and program pathways.
- Guaranteed admission to UM-Dearborn for JPEC graduates who finish with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Tuition Covered
- UM-Dearborn automatically applies a Dual Enrollment Scholarship covering 50% of tuition and fees, up to eight credits, for every dual-enrollment student.
- JPEC pays the remaining tuition and fees on behalf of students, keeping the opportunity free for families.
- Consistent with JPEC's Early College commitment: a diploma and meaningful college credit at no cost to families.
Dedicated Support
- UM-Dearborn Admissions staff assist with the application, dual-enrollment documentation, and course registration.
- Each semester includes an orientation covering UM-Dearborn policies, the Student Information System, and campus resources.
- Admissions staff are available throughout the semester, and UM-Dearborn joins information sessions for JPEC families upon request.
